Why is the Chromebook Pixel more powerful than most Macbooks?

Just something I noticed. Look at these Geekbench scores:

These are benchmarks I did for the Chromebook Pixel. Link here:

Now, this is the source of confusion because this is supposed to be just a simple dual core 1.8ghz i5. But you can CLEARLY see it absolutely smoking "better" processors in the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro line:


Now, we KNOW the Pixel is made better. Better memory and better storage (despite there being less of it). But is that enough to make a dual core i5 smoke an i7 in a very straight forward benchmark?

Someone needs to explain this voodoo to me.
